🌱 Itoh Peony Growing Guide
Itoh peonies are hybrids that blend the hardiness of herbaceous types with the stature of tree peonies:

• Soil: Prefers well-drained, fertile soil with pH around 6.5
• Planting Depth: Position shoots no more than 5 cm below soil surface
• Spacing: ~1 m between plants
• Watering: Moderate watering; reduce during dormancy in summer
• Feeding: Add blood & bone or compost when planting, plus general fertiliser in spring and autumn
• Winter Maintenance: Cut stems back to 10 cm above ground before leaf drop to prevent disease
• Dividing: Only during dormancy every few years if needed
• Potted Growth: Possible but challenging—requires winter chill and rich, well-draining soil
