Description
Create a colourful, low-maintenance groundcover with Aussie Rambler™ Pigface, a selected Australian native plant valued for its vigorous trailing growth and large, deep-pink flowers.
Its spreading succulent stems form a dense mat of fleshy grey-green foliage, while attractive purple tones may develop through the stems. The brilliant flowers provide a vibrant display and can attract bees and other visiting pollinators.
Aussie Rambler™ is particularly useful for coastal gardens, rockeries, embankments, retaining walls and other exposed positions where a hardy spreading plant is required.
SUPPLIED AS A YOUNG LIVE PLANT IN A 50MM NURSERY POT: The 50mm measurement refers to the pot size—not the plant’s height or spread. Plants may not be flowering when dispatched. Size, shape and growth will vary naturally.

Planting Instructions
Choose a sunny position with free-draining soil. Light shade is tolerated, although flowering and dense growth are generally strongest in full sun.
Dig a hole slightly wider than the root ball. Carefully remove the plant from its nursery pot, position it at the same depth at which it was growing and backfill gently.
Water thoroughly after planting and continue watering regularly while the plant establishes.
For mass groundcover planting, allow approximately one to two plants per square metre. Closer planting will generally provide coverage more quickly, while wider spacing allows each plant room to reach its mature spread.
Care Instructions
Position
Grow Aussie Rambler™ in full sun to light shade.
Full sun generally encourages denser growth and stronger flowering. Plants grown in heavier shade may become more open and produce fewer flowers.
Soil and Drainage
Plant in free-draining soil.
Aussie Rambler™ can adapt to sandy, loamy and some heavier soils, but it should not remain waterlogged for extended periods. Improve poorly drained planting areas before planting or grow the plant in a raised bed, mound or container.
Watering
Water regularly during the first 8–13 weeks after planting to encourage strong root establishment.
Once established, Aussie Rambler™ is drought tolerant. Occasional deep watering during prolonged hot or dry weather can help maintain healthy growth and flowering.
Allow the soil surface to begin drying between applications and avoid continually saturated conditions.
Feeding
This plant generally requires little fertiliser.
If growth appears weak, apply a controlled-release fertiliser suitable for Australian native plants during spring. Follow the product directions and avoid excessive application.
Pruning
Trim trailing stems whenever necessary to control the plant’s spread, encourage denser growth or remove damaged sections.
Pruning is generally best completed after a major flowering display. Avoid cutting into severely stressed plants during extreme heat or dry conditions.
Coastal Conditions
Aussie Rambler™ is well suited to coastal gardens and can tolerate salt-laden winds once established.
Young plants should still be watered regularly and protected from severe exposure until their root systems have developed.
Frost
Established plants tolerate light frost, but young plants may require protection during unusually cold conditions.
Frost tolerance varies according to the plant’s establishment, garden position, soil moisture and the severity and duration of the frost.
Container Growing
Aussie Rambler™ can be grown in large pots, troughs and raised planters where its stems can trail over the edges.
Use a free-draining potting mix and a container with generous drainage holes. Container-grown plants generally require more frequent watering than plants established in the ground.
