We offer both traditional single-colour varieties and vibrant hybrids featuring multiple tones. These hardy orchids provide long-lasting colour and are well suited to Australian conditions, continuing to perform even through the cooler months.
Crucifix orchids are valued for their resilience and ease of growing, making them a great choice for adding structure and interest to garden beds, pots, or shaded outdoor areas.

Our Epidendrum orchids are Australian-grown and well suited to local climate conditions, making them a reliable and rewarding choice for home gardeners.
Known for their toughness and long-lasting blooms, these orchids are ideal for adding colour to gardens, pots, and outdoor spaces throughout much of the year.
The Epidendrum genus includes over 1,000 species, with a wide range of growth habits and flower forms. While diverse, many share similar care requirements, making them easier to grow than most orchids.
Many Epidendrums are epiphytic, meaning they naturally grow on trees or rocks with exposed roots that gather moisture and nutrients from the surrounding environment.
Others grow successfully in soil, provided it is free draining, well aerated, and low in nutrients. A coarse mix is ideal to prevent root rot.
Epidendrum orchids typically feature tough, leathery foliage and an upright growth habit, producing clusters of bright flowers.
Common colours include red, orange, yellow, and white. Many varieties flower multiple times a year, with blooms lasting for extended periods.
Low maintenance, warm-climate tolerant, and adaptable to Australian conditions, Epidendrums are an excellent choice for gardeners seeking long-lasting colour with minimal fuss.
The Crucifix Orchid species got its name because most of them have clusters of three-lobed flowers that resemble the religious symbol. These plants thrive in indoor pots in warm, sunny conditions but also grow well outside. When you order Orchids from us, you will receive bare-rooted, mature plants that will flower in a few months. They should be planted in a pot or flower bed as soon as possible, with the roots well buried in the soil, or placed on a tree.
Should you see your Orchids struggling to grow, it would be good to test the soil conditions. Our four in one soil tester is fantastic. It measures the levels of sunlight exposure, temperature, soil moisture, and soil pH – the fundamental conditions for growing orchids. The first order turned up and had all leaves bright yellow. Oldboys Flowers immediately resent a new order with my Yellow Epidendrum orchid. The new order arrived after Easter but was in an excellent condition as per the attached photo. I highly recommend this seller and will always be looking for future purchases here first.

Many years ago I had a crucifix orchid that was my grandmothers and unfortunately on one of my move it was dropped on the ground and before it was noticed it was run over. You company I could find that was happy to post to Tasmania. They arrived and were well packed for post.age. They arrived in an excellent condition. Can't wait to see it flower.
