Description

Grow your own fresh, crunchy snow peas at home with Snow Pea Mammoth Melting. This popular climbing variety produces large, tender, flat pods that are best picked young and enjoyed fresh, steamed, stir-fried, or added to salads.

Supplied as an 8-cell seedling punnet, these young plants are ready to plant straight into the garden, raised beds, or large pots. Snow peas are a rewarding cool-season crop and are ideal for home gardeners wanting quick, useful produce from a small growing space.

Provide a trellis, mesh, stakes, or a climbing frame to support their vigorous growth.

Features

  • Supplied as an 8-cell seedling punnet
  • Popular climbing snow pea variety
  • Produces large, tender, flat pods
  • Great for fresh eating, steaming, stir-fries, and salads
  • Suitable for veggie gardens, raised beds, and large pots

  • Productive cool-season crop

Growing Conditions

Plant in a sunny to partly shaded position with well-drained soil. Snow peas prefer a fertile garden bed with consistent moisture, especially while seedlings establish and during pod production.

Avoid waterlogged soil. For best results, improve the soil with compost before planting.

Planting Tips

Plant seedlings gently at the same depth they are growing in the punnet. Space plants approximately 10–15 cm apart and water in well after planting.

Install climbing support early so the plants can attach as they grow. Pick pods regularly while young and tender to encourage continued production.

Harvest

Harvest pods when they are full-sized but still flat and tender. Regular picking helps keep the plants producing for longer.
