Patricia’s Pride Tango Lilium Bulb | Cream Lily with Deep Purple Centre

Product Details

Add refined drama and bold contrast to your garden with Patricia’s Pride Tango Lilium, a striking lily variety known for its creamy-white petals and rich deep purple centre. With its upfacing blooms and strong colour contrast, Patricia’s Pride creates a standout display in garden beds, borders, pots and cut flower arrangements.

Tango Liliums are loved for their distinctive colour patterns, often featuring heavily marked centres or bold contrasting tones. Lilium ‘Patricia’s Pride’ combines soft cream petals with a dramatic dark eye, giving the flowers a clean but powerful look that works beautifully in both modern and cottage-style gardens.

Growing to approximately 75cm tall, Patricia’s Pride is a great choice for smaller garden spaces, feature beds, containers and cut flower gardens. Its strong stems and compact height make it useful for floral arrangements, while its elegant colouring pairs beautifully with pink, white, burgundy, purple and mixed liliums.

Supplied as a dormant bulb, Patricia’s Pride can be planted in garden beds or large pots in a full sun to part shade position with fertile, free-draining soil.

Planting & Care

Plant Patricia’s Pride Lilium bulbs from June to September in a position with full sun to part shade. In warmer regions, morning sun with some afternoon protection can help protect flowers from harsh heat.

Choose fertile, free-draining soil. Liliums dislike sitting in wet, heavy soil, so improve drainage before planting if needed. A slightly acidic to neutral soil is ideal, around pH 5.5–6.5.

Plant bulbs approximately 10–15cm deep and space around 20–30cm apart. In pots, use a quality, free-draining potting mix and choose a deep container with good drainage holes.

Water well after planting, then keep the soil lightly moist during active growth. Avoid waterlogging, especially while bulbs are dormant or just beginning to shoot.

Mulch around the plants to help retain moisture, protect the root zone and reduce soil temperature fluctuations. In frost-prone areas, mulch can also help protect bulbs through colder periods.

Feed during active growth with a balanced fertiliser or bulb fertiliser to support strong stems, healthy foliage and quality blooms.

Stake plants if needed, especially in windy or exposed areas. After flowering, remove spent blooms but leave the foliage to die back naturally so the bulb can store energy for the following season.

Flowering Time

Flowering: October to December, depending on climate and planting time.
