    Description

Grass Tree 310™ Lomandra is a versatile and resilient Australian native plant designed to quickly mimic the classic, iconic look of a traditional grass tree within just one or two years. With its unique, upright fine-leaf foliage and dark green colour, it stands taller and more proudly than standard Lomandra varieties.

It is highly valued for creating structural, native landscapes without the need to dig up or source slow-growing traditional grass trees. Grass Tree 310™ produces abundant yellow flowers with exceptionally high pollen counts, making it highly attractive to beneficial insects and a superb addition to biodiversity-focused gardens.

    • Do not bury the crown beneath soil or mulch.

    • Backfill gently, firm the soil around the roots, and water thoroughly.

    • For mass planting, allow 3–5 plants per square metre.

    • Apply chunky mulch around the plant while keeping the crown completely uncovered.

    Care Instructions

Position Grow Grass Tree 310™ in full sun to moderate shade. It is well-suited to ACT, VIC, SA, WA, TAS, and NSW (south of Coffs Harbour). While it successfully handles Sydney’s humidity, it is not recommended for Queensland or highly tropical northern climates.

Soil This variety prefers well-drained soils. It performs best when regular, prolonged wet conditions are avoided. Ensure the planting area does not become permanently waterlogged.

Watering Water as required for the first 8–13 weeks after planting while the root system establishes. Once established, it is highly drought-tolerant. Avoid overwatering or planting in boggy areas.

Feeding Apply a suitable slow-release native plant fertiliser during spring if required. Follow the fertiliser label directions and avoid placing concentrated fertiliser directly against the crown.

Mulching Apply a layer of chunky mulch to help retain soil moisture and reduce weed growth. Keep the mulch completely clear of the base and crown.

Pruning Prune only if required to remove old foliage and refresh the plant, ensuring cuts are made above ground level.
