How to Use
-
Select a healthy cutting approximately 10cm long and no more than 1cm in diameter.
-
Remove enough lower leaves to allow the cutting to be planted.
-
Lightly moisten the base of the cutting with clean water.
-
Pour a small amount of Rootex-P into a separate clean container.
-
Insert the moistened end into the powder.
-
Gently shake or tap the cutting to remove excess powder.
-
Plant promptly into a suitable, clean propagation medium.
-
Firm the medium gently around the cutting.
-
Maintain appropriate moisture, humidity, light and temperature while roots develop.
Use only a thin, even coating. Applying excessive powder will not necessarily improve results.
Do not return used powder to the original sachet. Discard any powder that has contacted plant material to prevent moisture and contamination from entering the remaining product.
Propagation Tips
-
Take cuttings from healthy, actively growing parent plants
-
Use clean, sharp and sanitised cutting tools
-
Prepare fresh cuttings promptly

Frequently Asked Questions
What does 3000ppm mean?
It means the powder contains 3000 parts per million of Indole Butyric Acid. This is equivalent to 3g of IBA per kilogram of product.
What types of cuttings is this formulation intended for?
The registered label identifies this 3000ppm formulation for use on medium-wood cuttings. Different plant varieties may require different propagation techniques or hormone concentrations.
Does the powder need to be mixed with water?
No. Lightly moisten the base of the cutting, dip it directly into the powder and gently remove the excess before planting.
How many cuttings will one sachet treat?
An 18g sachet can treat approximately 600 cuttings. The actual number will depend on cutting size and how much powder is applied.
Can leftover working powder be returned to the sachet?
No. Powder that has contacted cuttings may contain moisture, plant sap or pathogens. Discard the used portion and keep the remaining product clean and dry.
Does Rootex-P guarantee that every cutting will grow roots?
No. It supports root initiation, but successful propagation also depends on cutting health, plant variety, season, humidity, temperature, growing medium and ongoing care.
How should Rootex-P be stored after opening?
Reseal the sachet and store it in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place away from sunlight, heat, food, children and animals.
Is Rootex-P classified as dangerous goods?
The current safety data sheet does not classify Rootex-P as hazardous or as dangerous goods for transport. Normal precautions remain important, including wearing gloves and safety glasses, avoiding dust and washing hands after use.
