Product Details
Add fresh, unusual colour to your garden or indoor display with Green Magic Hippeastrum, a striking flowering bulb known for its elegant pale green and white blooms with red to burgundy streaking. With its clean, modern colouring and unusual patterning, Green Magic offers something different from the traditional red and pink Hippeastrums.
Commonly searched for as Amaryllis, these flowering bulbs are botanically Hippeastrums. Hippeastrum ‘Green Magic’ produces large, open blooms in soft white to pale green tones, often with a fresh green throat and fine red or wine-coloured markings. The result is a refined, eye-catching flower that looks beautiful in pots, protected garden beds and cut flower arrangements.
Green Magic is a lovely choice for gardeners wanting a softer, more contemporary Hippeastrum. Its pale green and white tones pair beautifully with darker red, burgundy, pink, white and green-flowering varieties, making it ideal for feature pots or mixed seasonal displays.
Supplied as a dormant bulb, Green Magic can be grown in pots or garden beds with good drainage. Plant from July to October in full sun to partial shade, leaving the neck of the bulb slightly exposed above the soil surface.

Planting & Care
Plant Green Magic Hippeastrum bulbs from July to October in a position with full sun to partial shade. In warmer climates, morning sun with afternoon shade can help protect the flowers and foliage from harsh heat.
Choose a light, free-draining soil. Before planting, loosen the soil to around 20cm deep and improve drainage if needed. Hippeastrums dislike sitting in wet, heavy soil, particularly while dormant.
Plant with the fat end and roots facing down, leaving the neck of the bulb slightly exposed above the soil surface. Do not bury the bulb completely. Keeping the neck slightly exposed helps reduce moisture build-up around the bulb.
If planting multiple bulbs, space them around 10cm apart for a full display, or further apart if you prefer a more open planting.
If growing in pots, use a quality free-draining potting mix and make sure the pot has good drainage holes. Avoid oversized pots that hold too much moisture around the bulb.
Water after planting, then water moderately while the bulb is actively growing. Allow the soil or potting mix to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid overwatering, especially in pots or during cooler weather.
Feed during active growth with a balanced bulb fertiliser or pelletised chicken manure to support strong stems, healthy foliage and future flowering. Avoid excessive nitrogen, as this can encourage leafy growth at the expense of flowers.
Protect from frost, especially in colder regions or when growing in pots. In frost-prone areas, Green Magic is best grown in pots so it can be moved under cover if needed.
After flowering, allow the foliage to remain until it naturally yellows. This helps the bulb store energy for the next flowering cycle. In suitable climates, Hippeastrum bulbs can remain undisturbed for several years.
