Product Details
Bring fresh, unusual colour to your summer garden with Blitz Gladioli, an elegant Gladiolus grandiflorus variety producing tall spikes of ruffled green-yellow blooms. With its soft lime, chartreuse and yellow-green tones, Blitz offers a striking alternative to traditional bright gladioli colours and adds a clean, modern look to garden beds, borders and floral arrangements.
Gladioli are one of the most popular summer flowering bulbs for Australian gardens, loved for their tall upright stems, dramatic flower spikes and excellent use as cut flowers. Blitz Gladiolus makes a beautiful tall accent in the garden, providing height, structure and long-lasting colour when flowering outdoors or displayed indoors in a vase.
Growing to approximately 100–150cm tall, these gladioli bulbs are perfect for garden borders, cottage gardens, cutting gardens, mixed bulb displays and large pots. The green-yellow flowers pair beautifully with white, purple, pink, orange and deep red gladioli, making Blitz a versatile choice for both garden planting and flower arranging.
Flowering during spring in warmer regions and through summer in cooler temperate regions, gladioli can also be planted in succession every 4–6 weeks during the planting season to help create a staggered display of colour. Plant from June to September in full sun to semi shade. Supplied as a dry bulb, Blitz Gladioli is a rewarding choice for gardeners wanting elegant, tall flower spikes and reliable vase appeal.

Planting & Care
Plant gladioli bulbs from June to September in a sunny, well-drained position. Gladioli perform best in full sun, though they can also grow in semi shade, particularly in warmer regions.
Choose a spot with fertile, free-draining soil. If planting in pots, use a large pot or tub filled with a premium-quality potting mix. Avoid heavy, waterlogged soil, as gladioli bulbs can rot if they remain too wet.
Plant bulbs approximately 10–15cm deep, with the pointed end facing upwards. Space bulbs around 10–15cm apart for a fuller display. For a longer flowering season, plant additional bulbs every 4–6 weeks through the planting period.
Water in well after planting, then keep the soil lightly moist while the plants are actively growing. Gladioli appreciate regular watering during dry periods, especially as flower spikes begin to form.
For best results, feed with a complete fertiliser during active growth to support strong stems and quality blooms. Avoid excessive nitrogen, as this may encourage leafy growth at the expense of flowers.
Because gladioli grow tall, they may need support in exposed areas. Plant where they have some protection from strong winds, or stake flower spikes as they develop to help keep stems upright.
For cut flowers, pick stems when the lower flowers are just beginning to open. Place stems straight into clean water and remove any foliage that would sit below the waterline. The remaining buds can continue opening indoors, making gladioli a long-lasting and rewarding cut flower.
After flowering, allow the foliage to continue growing until it naturally yellows. This helps the bulb store energy for future growth. In frost-prone areas, bulbs may be lifted and stored once foliage has died back.
