My Love Dahlia | White Semi-Cactus Dahlia Tuber

Product Details

My Love Dahlia is an elegant white semi-cactus dahlia grown for its pointed petals and clean, bright flower display. The fully double blooms are white to creamy white, often with a soft greenish-yellow centre as the flower opens.

Its fresh white colouring makes it ideal for cottage gardens, moon gardens, mixed dahlia beds and cut-flower arrangements. The spiky semi-cactus flower form adds texture while still giving a soft, classic look in the garden.

Supplied as a dry dahlia tuber, ready for planting once the soil has warmed.

  • Excellent cut flower
  • Flowers from summer into autumn

  • Suitable for garden beds, borders and large pots
  • Supplied as a dry dahlia tuber

Planting & Care

Plant dahlia tubers from September to December, once the risk of frost has passed.

Choose a position in full sun to light part shade with fertile, well-drained soil. Full sun gives the strongest flowering.

Plant the tuber with the growing eye facing upward and cover with approximately 5–10cm of soil. Avoid cold, wet soil, as this can cause tubers to rot.

Water lightly after planting, then increase watering once shoots appear. Dahlias prefer regular moisture during active growth and flowering but dislike waterlogged soil.

Stake taller plants early to support stems and reduce wind damage.

Flowering Time

Planting season: September to December
Flowering season: December to April, depending on climate and planting time

Deadhead regularly to encourage more flowers.

Climate and Hardiness

My Love Dahlia suits warm-temperate, cool-temperate, subtropical and mild coastal Australian gardens.

Dahlias are not frost hardy. In frost-prone areas, plant after the last frost and lift tubers in winter if soil becomes cold and wet.

In very hot climates, afternoon shade can help protect flowers from harsh summer heat.
