Nepenthes ‘Louisa’ Pitcher Plant | Jumbo Green Carnivorous Plant | 50mm Pot

    Description

Nepenthes ‘Louisa’ is a beginner-friendly carnivorous pitcher plant that generously produces giant, bug-catching traps. This epiphytic variety forms an arching rosette of glossy green leaves that develop into slightly fuzzy, pale green tubes reaching up to 20cm long. Inside these enzyme-filled pitchers lies a hidden surprise of vibrant red freckles. It makes a fascinating indoor feature or a striking outdoor specimen for warm, tropical spaces.

    Plant Characteristics

    • Jumbo pale green pitchers up to 20cm long

    • Hidden red freckles inside the tubes

    • Generous pitcher production

    • Glossy green foliage that darkens as it matures

    • Epiphytic growth habit (grows naturally on trees)

    • Carnivorous bug-dissolving enzymes

    • Grows to approximately 1m high

    • Supplied in a 50mm Pot

Supplied as a healthy young Nepenthes ‘Louisa’ plant growing in a 50mm nursery pot. The 50mm measurement refers to the pot’s width. It does not refer to the plant’s height or width. Plant height, leaf number, and root development will vary naturally. The supplied plant will be considerably smaller than the mature specimens shown in product photographs.

    • Pot: Use a container with excellent drainage holes, preferably a hanging basket to allow the pitchers to dangle naturally.

    Care Instructions

    • Watering: Keep the growing medium consistently moist, but never soggy or waterlogged.

    • Humidity: Mist the plant regularly to maintain the high humidity required for healthy pitcher development.

    • Feeding: The plant sustains itself by catching insects. Mature plants may benefit from a highly diluted orchid fertiliser applied just once a year.

    • Climate: Loves warmth and humidity. It must be protected from the cold and kept in an environment that stays strictly above 10°C at night.
