Planting & Care
Plant Viva La Vida Lilium bulbs in a position with full sun to partial shade. In warmer climates, a position with morning sun and some afternoon protection can help protect the flowers from harsh heat.
Choose fertile, free-draining soil. Liliums dislike sitting in wet, heavy soil, so improve drainage before planting if needed. A slightly acidic to neutral soil is ideal, around pH 6–6.5.
Plant bulbs approximately 10–15cm deep and space them around 20–30cm apart. In pots, use a quality, free-draining potting mix and choose a container deep enough to support strong root growth.
Water well after planting, then keep the soil lightly moist during active growth. Avoid waterlogging. Mulch around the plants to help retain moisture and keep the root zone cooler.
Feed during active growth with a balanced fertiliser or bulb fertiliser to support strong stems, healthy foliage and quality blooms.
Stake plants if needed, especially in windy areas or exposed garden beds. Remove spent flowers after blooming, but leave the foliage to die back naturally so the bulb can store energy for the following season.
Flowering Time
Bloom Time: Mid-summer, depending on climate and planting time.
Flowering can vary slightly between regions and seasons.
