Product Details

  • Product: Grampa’s Weeder
  • Product code: GD640
  • Overall length: Approximately 114cm
  • Handle material: Bamboo
  • Head material: Heavy-duty steel
  • Mechanism: Four-claw foot-operated weed puller
  • Quantity: One weeder

How to Use

  1. Centre the steel claws over the weed and root.
  2. Press the footpad straight down to push the claws into the soil.
  3. Remove your foot, then lean the handle towards the footpad to close the claws around the root and lift the weed.

For best results, use when the soil is slightly moist. Very dry, compacted or rocky soil may make root removal more difficult.

Care and Safety

Remove soil from the steel head after use and allow the tool to dry before storage. Store undercover to protect the bamboo handle and steel components.

Wear enclosed footwear and keep hands and feet clear of the claws. Do not force the tool into rocks, hard surfaces or heavily compacted soil.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it remove weeds without bending down?
It is designed to remove many weeds from a standing position, reducing the need for bending, pulling and kneeling.

What types of weeds does it work on?
It is particularly useful for dandelions and other weeds with defined central roots.

Does it require chemicals?
No. The tool removes weeds mechanically and does not require herbicide.

Does it remove the entire root?
The four claws are designed to grip around the root, although results will vary with the weed, root structure and soil conditions.

Should the soil be wet or dry?
Slightly moist soil generally provides the easiest removal. Water very dry soil before use if necessary.

Can it be used in lawns?
Yes. It can remove individual lawn weeds, although a small hole may remain after the root is extracted.

Is it suitable for hard or rocky soil?
It performs best in penetrable soil. Avoid forcing the claws into rocks or heavily compacted ground.
